
Getting Your SIPA and SACMI Lamps Up to Temp Faster
If you’re running a SIPA SFR 16 or a SACMI rotary blow molder, you know the deal. You’re cranking out thousands of bottles an hour, and your timing has to be perfect. There is almost zero room for error when it comes to heating those PET preforms. That’s why we built these replacement lamps. We wanted to kill that annoying lag between flipping the switch and hitting peak heat. The heat is where it counts. We focused on high-wattage density. In plain English? The preforms hit their target temperature faster, so you don’t have to slow down your cycle. We tweaked the filament geometry and voltage so the ramp-up is nearly instant. It’s a relief, honestly. You don’t have to crank the heat to dangerous levels just to make up for a slow start, which means you can stop worrying about scorching your plastic. Built for the grind. Rapid cycling is brutal on equipment. To handle that thermal shock, we used high-purity quartz glass. We also added a halogen gas fill to stop the filament from evaporating too quickly. It keeps the lamps alive longer, even when you’re pulsing them aggressively. And we kept the installation dead simple. These are drop-in replacements. No messing with your wiring, no fighting with brackets, and no “custom” adjustments. Your maintenance crew can swap them out during a normal changeover and get back to work without a headache. A couple of things to keep in mind. Here’s the catch: more heat density means your reflectors have to be spot on. Keep them polished. If they’re dirty, that infrared energy won’t hit the preform—it’ll just bake your machine frame. Also, double-check your cooling blowers. These tubes put out a lot of power, so you’ll want to make sure your airflow can handle the extra ambient heat. But once you’ve got that dialed in? You’ll notice way less waste during startup. You just hit your stable production speeds and stay there.
