The Gear That Makes It Work
To get these heaters talking to your smart hub, you need a bridge. We usually use a heavy-duty relay or a TRIAC dimmer. Think of it as a digital gatekeeper sitting between your power outlet and the heater. Your smart controller sends a quick “go” signal, the gate opens, and the heat hits. The best part? There’s no waiting around. Since infrared doesn’t have to warm up a giant tank of air or a heavy radiator, it’s almost instant. Making It “Invisible”
A smart home shouldn’t feel like you’re operating a spaceship; it should just happen. We do this by pairing the heaters with occupancy sensors and temperature probes. Here’s how we set it up: if the sensor sees you’ve walked into the room and the temperature has dipped below 18°C, the heater kicks in. You don’t even have to think about it. A Few Things to Watch Out For

If you don’t leave enough room for ventilation or use fire-rated insulation, things get too hot up there. If that happens, the thermal cutoff switch will trip and shut everything down right when you need it most. Also, don’t cheap out on the wiring.
