
Why We Built Our Mirror Heaters to be Modular
Ever stepped out of a hot shower only to find your mirror is a complete blur? We’ve all been there. Most mirror heaters fix this by keeping the glass warm enough to stop the fog. But here’s the problem: most of them are built like a sealed box. If one heating tube burns out, the whole thing is basically trash, or you’re looking at a nightmare of a repair job. We thought that was ridiculous. So, we did things differently.
Stop Ripping Out Your Walls
Instead of soldering everything together, we built our infrared heaters as separate “cassettes.” Think of them like a battery in a remote—they just slide in. We use quick-connect terminals instead of permanent wiring. If a part fails after five years, you don’t have to tear the mirror off the wall and call in a construction crew. You just pop the old module out and drop a new one in. It turns a stressful afternoon of demolition into a two-minute swap. It’s that simple.
Getting the Heat Just Right
We use short-wave infrared emitters because they hit the glass fast. But you have to be careful. If the heat isn’t spread out evenly, you get “hot spots,” and that’s how you end up with a cracked mirror. We’ve spent a lot of time making sure the warmth is consistent across the whole surface. Now, these elements get hot—really hot. Because of that, the plastic housing around them has to be tough. If you use cheap materials, the housing will warp over time. We make sure the materials can handle the heat so the mirror stays straight and sturdy.
Built for the Bathroom
Bathrooms are brutal on electronics. The humidity and steam eat away at wiring through corrosion. To fight this, we use moisture-resistant connectors that actually hold up. When it’s time for a check-up, you don’t have to dismantle the whole fixture just to see if things are still working. You can test the resistance right at the modular interface. And the best part? No soldering. No fancy tools. Just unplug the old one, plug in the new one, and you’re back to seeing yourself clearly in the mirror.
