The Sacmi SBF 12 moves fast. Really fast. And when you’re running at that kind of cycle rate, even a tiny lag in your heating phase is a nightmare. You end up with uneven preform temperatures, which basically means your wall thickness goes all over the place. We’ve been there. That’s why we built our replacement lamps to kill that startup lag and keep the heat steady, even when the machine is spinning at full tilt. The power behind the heat To fit the SBF 12 footprint, these lamps are built for speed. We use high-wattage shortwave infrared emitters that hit peak temperature in milliseconds. It lets you keep your production window tight. You’re getting a ton of heat density per linear millimeter—which you need for PET preforms—but there’s a catch. This much heat puts a lot of stress on your reflectors. If yours are pitted or oxidized, you’re just wasting energy. The heat won’t actually hit the preform. What’s inside We went with high-purity quartz glass so these things don’t burn out prematurely. The filament is tuned for a fast start, so you aren’t just sitting there idling while the machine ramps up. And for the people actually doing the install: we used standardized connectors. They’re simple drop-in replacements. No rewiring the housing, no messing with mounting brackets. Just swap them and go. Real-world use These lamps pretty much solve the “cold start” headache. By fixing the thermal inertia of the filament, the first few bottles coming off the line look exactly like the thousandth.
