The Secret Sauce
Inside these tubes, there’s a tungsten filament wrapped in high-purity quartz. We pump in halogen gas to keep the filament from evaporating and gunking up the glass. That means the tubes stay clear and keep punching out the same amount of heat for thousands of hours. The best part? There’s no “warm-up” period. You flip the switch, and you’re at peak intensity instantly. It cuts your preheat times down to almost nothing, which means you can squeeze more baking cycles into your day.
Getting Them Installed
We designed these to be simple drop-in replacements. Depending on your setup, they use R7s or SK15 connectors. We use those because they create a tight fit—no loose connections, no sparking at the terminals. Plus, the quartz is tough enough to handle the crazy temperature swings you deal with in a professional kitchen. One quick tip: make sure your controllers match the lamp’s voltage and wattage. It’s tempting to try and “over-drive” a lamp to get more heat, but all that does is fry the filament. Don’t do it.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
This kind of heat density is powerful, but it does ask more of your equipment. Since you’re pulling more power, double-check your wiring and breakers. You want to be sure they can handle that initial surge when the lamps kick in. Also, give your lamps some breathing room. If the housing is cramped and the air can’t move, the heat can build up and mess with your sensors. Keep the airflow clear, and your temperatures will stay spot on.
