The smart move is a reflector replacement built specifically for the job. What matters technically We make the reflector to match Krones’ heating profile, using anodized aluminum with high reflectivity to throw infrared energy back onto the preforms. It’s engineered to fit the OEM lamp interface—typically halogen or short-wave infrared emitters with an R7s connector—so you keep the same lamp power, voltage, and focal distance. No need to re-tune the heating curve. Dimensions and mounting points copy the original, so the heat lands where the system expects it. Why it works in practice With fresh reflectors, the tunnel settles into repeatable temperature distribution, and preform heating becomes more uniform. That means fewer hot spots, less risk of crystallization, and stretch ratios that hold steady on the blow molder.
