The geometry lines up with standard heating tunnel layouts, so focal distance and reflector positioning give repeatable heat distribution across the preform surface.
Why it works on the line
In stretch blow molding, the whole point is uniform softening before the stretch rod even moves. When the lamps match the OEM thermal profile, temperature swing drops. That stabilizes cycle time and cuts rejects from overheated or underheated zones. In practice, you stop chasing the line so much—fewer stops for adjustment, less scrap rework, and more consistent bottle wall thickness. Energy use also improves, because the emitters hit target temperature quickly and hold it. That means less idle heating waste.
The details that keep you out of trouble
Installation is straightforward, but alignment is tight. Reflector position, lamp seating, and connector contact have to be verified—move things by a few millimeters and you’ll create hot spots or weak spots. These lamps are designed to be compatible with major blow molders, but final fit still needs to be confirmed against your exact model year and heating tunnel configuration. For best life, keep the tunnel clean and keep an eye on lamp output. IR output declines with hours, so track runtime and plan replacements before quality starts drifting.
